Domain Registration

The domain name is the name of your website. Google.com, Facebook.com, etc. are some of the popular domain names. In Nepal, Mercantile Communication Pvt. You can also apply for a personal domain in your name, but here we are going to discuss domain registration in the name of the company.

Document required for domain registration in the name of your company.

  • -Scan a copy of your company registration certificate from the office of the company registrar (OCR).
  • -Scan a copy of the cover letter or application on the letterhead of the company.

 

Registration Process

You have to open your browser and navigate to https://register.com.np/. To begin with, create a user ID on the page. The form fill-up process is basic; you have to just provide your full name, email ID, and password to create an ID. Once you create an ID, you can log in to it.

After logging in to the page, you get the option to check for domain availability in the search bar. Type your domain name related to your business and check its availability. If it's available, you can continue further after clicking on the Register Now option.

Now the Next window opens on your screen. You have to fill up the name server. If you use personal web hosting, you can simply enter it. We will later discuss what web hosting is in this blog. If you don't have web hosting, you can simply enter:

Primary name server: ns1.hosting.com.np

Secondary name server: ns2.hosting.com.np

You can later change it once you have your own web hosting.

Administrative contact details and technical contact details. You have to fill up your personal details, like your full name, address, email ID, mobile number, and then organization name, as per your registration documents. You can copy the same data in technical contact.

Follow the instructions to fill out the form. The one with the * mark is the mandatory section. Upload the company registration certificate and application, and make a request for the domain. You can track status from the dashboard. You get the approval email in your registered email ID within a day.

 

Web Hosting

Let's have a basic idea of what web hosting is. Web hosting is a platform for your domain name that stores files and data that make up your website. Web hosting stores your images, videos, and text and makes them available online. There are many web hosting services available on the market. You can check them out on Google and YouTube. I suggest you use Cloudflare as web hosting for your blog or WordPress. You can enjoy its free plans and features. There are many videos on YouTube on Cloudflare, so set your web hosting accordingly. It also allows you to use your own domain as an email ID for free.

Others

If you want to get your personal domain, the entire process is the same; you just have to upload a scan copy of your citizenship and application. You can alternately purchase other domains like.org,.com, etc. from Godaddy and other websites. Here we are going to provide you with a sample application for.com.np domain registration.
