Construction of a periphery wall around the school premises.

This construction project aims at building a compound wall around the school premises. It's a light-weight hollow block wall with a standing height of 6 feet and 4 feet of metal fencing on top. The project kick-off meeting was held on December 14, 2021, between the personnel of the school management team, Innovate Engineering Consultant, and Construction Company Pvt. Ltd. Soon after receiving a note to proceed from the school, construction started. Since the site was vulnerable, the work area was properly barricaded for school students. As we were provided a limited time of two months for the project's completion, sufficient numbers of workers and equipment were mobilized to the site. Under the management of Innovate Engineering Consultant and Construction Company Pvt. Ltd., the construction is supervised by the senior engineers of the Nepal Army, who work closely with field engineers to ensure the project meets agreed-upon specifications within the given time frame.

Earthwork was done by mechanical means and during the night shift to allow easy access and work space for excavators. All fundamental raw materials like cement, blocks, rebars, sand, etc. were taken to the site during the night so as not to disturb traffic flow. In every 14-foot distance, the 9'*9' column was set up. M20-grade concrete was used for column casting purposes. Once the column casting was completed, brick soling for the wall was carried out. PCC of thickness 75 mm with a mix ratio of 1:3:6 was done over soling tie beams provided. This was the completion of the under-ground structures.

Over-tie beam and block wall work was started at the proper line level. Within 30 days, as per the agreed construction schedule, the block work was completed. The plaster work was then carried out with 1:4 cement sand mix, as per the instructions from site engineers. The metal framing on top was done on the last step. With proper primer and painting work, landscaping was done as per site conditions. As per mandatory norms, the lab test reports of cube tests on concrete, company quality certification of cement, and rebars were handed over on January 25, 2022, to the school management committee.
